Rodney Thiessen is participating in the 2016 Dream Mountains Machu Picchu trek, in support of the Ottawa Senators Foundation.
I’m Rodney Thiessen, and I’m heading off to hike to Machu Picchu with the 2016 Dream Mountains team. After my wife hiked the Inca trail with her 75 year-old father in 2011, it has been a goal of mine to see this amazing site myself.
With two young daughters, aged eight and ten, I can certainly understand and appreciate the amazing work that the Ottawa Senators Foundation does to empower children and youth to reach their full potential. Their investment in social recreation and education programs that promote both physical and mental wellness is a critical priority, and their support of Rogers House in particular, is very inspiring.
I believe, just as the Sens Foundation does, that investing in programs that keep our kids healthy and active will pay huge benefits in the future. My girls, both hardcore hockey players, have certainly benefitted from being involved in sports. I look forward to helping raise funds for the Ottawa Senators Foundation and hope you can help me help them!
